The Position

As a Brand Manager, you will be responsible for building and maintaining a segment of the company's brand portfolio in the Danish market. You will play a key role in planning and activating marketing plans, in close cooperation with the regional marketing team. This includes managing marketing activities, including brand activation in retail, the on-trade segment, and festivals. 

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the marketing strategy for multiple Brand Owners and their portfolio of spirit products.
  • Ensuring that the brand DNA is followed in all marketing activities and having a clear understanding of the primary target audience per category and brand.
  • Managing potential agency relationships within Brand Activation, Trade Marketing, and tastings.
  • Implementing the marketing plan to the highest level of execution on time and within budget.
  • Planning, organizing, executing, and participating in consumer and on-trade events.
  • Planning and executing trade materials for the commercial department and motivating the sales force.
  • Managing and controlling the A&P budget.
  • Taking ownership and driving Consumer Excellence in relation to brand strategy and specific channel strategies and objectives.

As the new Brand Manager at Hans Just, you will be responsible for brand building for a portfolio of spirit products from among others, two of the largest suppliers, Borco and Zamora Company (Sierre Tequila, Licor 43, Villa Massa, etc.), as well as Hans Just’s own mixer brand Shake-it Mixer and Ready-To-Drink brand The Cocktail Factory. You will be part of a marketing team consisting of 14 colleagues, reporting to the Marketing Director. Depending on the activity, there will be around 20-30 travel days a year.

Your Profile

The ideal candidate is commercial and creative, as well as strategic and execution-oriented by nature, and has experience in building a brand at a high level. You have a relevant education in marketing and communication and are fluent in Danish and English, both orally and in writing. Practical experience is a key factor for this position, and you are expected to have at least two years of experience from the FMCG industry as a Brand Manager, Category Manager, or similar. You have experience with various marketing activities, having managed to create visibility, increase revenue, and high demand through marketing strategies aligned with consumer insights and global brand guidelines.

You have experience in implementing and executing high-quality marketing plans, managing to meet deadlines and budgets. Additionally, you have experience in planning, organizing, executing, and participating in consumer events and on-trade events. Moreover, you have knowledge about planning and executing for the commercial department and motivating the sales force. Your experience also includes managing and controlling the advertising and promotions budget, interpreting data, and translating these into concrete action plans.

You also have a strong drive and passion. You are independent but also enjoy the community within the organization. You have strong interpersonal skills, solid communication and presentation skills, and a solid commercial understanding.


The position is a full-time freelance employment for 2-3 months, where you will be working from Hans Just's office in Østerbro, Copenhagen; the start is as soon as possible.
