Global Digital Marketing Paid Media Specialist
Are you an experienced paid media specialist with a strong strategic mindset and a global outlook? Syngenta is looking for a senior digital marketing profile to join its Global Digital Marketing team and play a key role in shaping and optimizing paid media efforts across markets. This is a hands-on yet strategic role for someone who thrives in complex international set-ups, can translate business objectives into high-performing media initiatives, and is confident collaborating with stakeholders across local and global teams.
The team
The Global Digital Marketing team consists of around 25 specialists across digital marketing and branding, with most team members working remotely. As such, close collaboration is an integral part of the set-up, and weekly SCRUM ceremonies and status meetings help ensure alignment across functions, markets, and priorities.
The position
In this role, you will lead the strategic direction of paid media activities across Syngenta’s global digital marketing landscape while also staying close to execution and performance. You will be responsible for developing and refining global paid media strategies, guiding campaign set-up and optimization across channels such as Google Ads, Meta, X/Twitter, and programmatic platforms, and ensuring campaigns are aligned with business objectives and regional needs.
You will act as the internal subject matter expert on paid media, advising stakeholders on campaign approaches, budget allocation, targeting strategy, and performance improvement opportunities. A central part of the role is to combine strong analytical capabilities with commercial understanding in order to optimize ROI, identify growth opportunities, and drive continual improvement across markets and channels.
The role also involves close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders and local market teams, requiring the ability to communicate clearly, present insights convincingly, and navigate a complex international stakeholder landscape. Success in the role depends on being able to balance strategic leadership with hands-on knowledge of campaign execution, measurement, and optimization.
Additional areas of responsibility include:
- Develop and implement global paid media strategies aligned with overall business objectives
- Oversee and optimize multi-channel campaigns across paid search, paid social, and programmatic platforms
- Build advanced targeting approaches for niche audiences and decision-makers across diverse markets
- Leverage analytics and cross-platform reporting to identify trends, improve performance, and scale impact
- Own and allocate paid media budgets to support business KPIs and maximize return on investment
- Present strategic recommendations and campaign performance insights to senior stakeholders and local teams
- Drive innovation by testing new approaches, ad formats, platform capabilities, and optimization methods
Your profile
To succeed in this role, you bring at least 7 years of experience within paid media and the broader digital marketing landscape, including a strong track record of planning, launching, and optimizing large-scale campaigns across multiple markets. You combine strategic perspective with operational know-how and are comfortable navigating both high-level stakeholder dialogue and detailed performance analysis.
You likely come from a larger agency environment or have worked with global brands in complex organisations, and you have solid hands-on experience across Google Ads, Meta Ads, and programmatic media buying. You are confident using Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to generate actionable insights, and experience with Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, or related marketing automation and CRM systems is considered an advantage.
On a personal level, you are analytical, collaborative, and proactive, with strong communication skills and the ability to build trust across a wide range of stakeholders. You are comfortable presenting recommendations to senior audiences, managing expectations across local and global teams, and working in a fast-paced international environment. Experience with B2B marketing and targeting decision-makers across markets will be a clear advantage. Fluency in English, written and spoken, is required.
